Target Root Causes

Most lake management interventions focus on symptoms – treating algae with biocidal chemicals – algaecides and herbicides – or harvesting weeds or dredging sediments. But these treatments ignore the root cause real problems

Oxygen Depletion (Hypoxia)
Caused by the decomposition of organic sediment  .
Sediment Nutrient Recycling
Caused by Hypoxia that create a self-sustaining nutrient supply for algae and weed growth from within the lake itself.
Phytoplankton Imbalance
As cyanobacteria dominate nutrient uptake in eutrophic conditions further depleting the food web, making conditions worse.
